Shelby’s Way Off-Road Adventure

October 5-7 in the Red River Gorge
BRINGING AWARENESS TO SUICIDE PREVENTION

This event will accommodate everything from stock or mild built 4x4s to dedicated extreme builds. We will be trail riding through the Red River Gorge area on October 5-7 with the main ride on Saturday October 6. All proceeds will go to the 501c3 non-profit, Shelby’s Way, bringing awareness to suicide prevention.

This will be for licensed vehicles with working lights, tow hooks and up to date registration and insurance. This is for all skill levels. If you have never been off-road and want to learn, then this is the perfect way to do it. We will be driving the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway and other areas. We will camp at Callie’s Lake and Campground on Friday and Saturday. This is a family friendly event. Lots of us bring our kids and we have a lot of fun teaching them about the outdoors. Full hookup sites are limited so contact Callie’s soon to book your campsite. Most drivers will camp in tents or small campers.

The entry fee will be $50 and will include a shirt and sticker for the driver as well as 1 Saturday night concert ticket. If passengers would like a shirt and sticker it will be $15 each. Sizes and quantities are limited, so those are first come first serve. Please register before the deadline to ensure a t-shirt and shirt size.

There will be live music concert on Saturday night, grilled food available from the campground after the ride and a raffle with tons of prizes to benefit the charity.

If you have any questions feel free to message or call Luke Bogner at 859-760-1942.

ALL PROCEEDS TO SHELBY’S WAY

Bringing Awareness to Suicide Prevention

Watch this video as Mark Cain tells the story of Shelby Cain and his passing by suicide in 2009. We don’t share this just to share the story alone, but to honor Shelby and to help others with what they may be going through in their lives, with their loved ones or even their loved ones who have been lost by suicide. It’s a topic generally unspoken, as nobody wants to discuss suicide or mental health. Shelby’s Way hopes to help end the stigma by going first in telling this story so others may have the courage to talk about their mental health, and if needed, receive help.

Mark has taken this tragedy in his family’s lives, and started this non-profit to bring awareness to suicide prevention. Shelby’s Way not only educates and informs, but through events, the organization raises money to help clients with everyday financial needs, mental health care and medicine along with funds to help families bury their loved ones lost by suicide. Through the spirit of community and fellowship, we can prevent another tragic loss and end the stigma of discussing the difficult topics of suicide and our own well being!

FRIDAY NIGHT HIKE AND TRAIL RIDE

HOSTED BY HIKING RRG
Friday October 5 at 5:30pm
Included with Trail Ride

Hiking RRG will be hosting an evening hike and night ride in Red River Gorge. We will line up at Callie’s Lake and Campground around 5:30pm to depart. From there we will head through the famous Nada Tunnel and up to the scenic Tarr Ridge overlook for sunset. The hike is only about 30 minutes round trip and is an easy walk.

After the hike, fire up those LED lights as we will continue on to an evening night ride on the DBBB running Spaas Creek and Pumpkin Hollow (easy to light medium) then back to Callie’s. This route should be suitable to all vehicles, but it’s only a short trip back to camp if you want to bypass the off-roading portion.
